Most people have thought that the Earth is round for thousands of years now, agriculture was a part of the creation of civilisation, but without a code of morals, I believe that this civilisation wouldn't have functioned properly.

I don't see how a religion can be immoral, only the people which use it to fulfil their agenda. Many reputable greek philosophers have been attributed to the discovery of the earth being round. Moreover, this view wasn't challenged specifically by religious authorities, greek philosophers certainly weren't outcast.

 

It's debatable whether or not civilization would've worked without a "moral code" (I believe it would've worked just fine), but we don't need one now. So it's time to dump religion because it's only making us stupider.

This is the stupidest thing there has ever been. It's been proven countless times and it isn't scientifically acceptable unless it provides us with observable evidence. You, as a matter of fact, can still observe the big bang today. But nobody can find any evidence of God creating the heavens and the Earth.
Doesn't the bible say incest isn't allowed? Well, how did we all come from just 2 people god created??? Like really? Did the authors of this **** proof read it at all?

I think there's one Greek philosopher was executed for not believing in god because he didn't see evidence for one and was asking people if they really should believe in one.

I agree that religion is somewhat holding us back today, and that first point is debatable whatever. Personally, no, I don't believe in Greek gods, I don't understand how you got that from what I said. I was pointing out, how religious authorities didn't punish people for believing that the Earth is round, not that religion and science don't contradict each other. I think that that Greek philosopher didn't exist (because anyone can THINK anything they want, evidence please). The middle-east contains some of the poorest countries in the world, yes, this is partly due to war, which I suppose you could claim is caused by religion. However, it is also due to a number of other factors such as fertility rates in soil, the fact that the countries are land-locked etc, not just because of religion.
Edit: I meant that religion can't be immoral because it is a belief system that sets the standards of morality.
