Any tips on how to add debris to this explosion. Its supposed to be a low profile explosion (laser impact) but I want there to be a good deal of debris without it looking sloppy or childish. Screenshot 2017-02-13 at 6.51.35 PM.png

draw little sparks and small chunks of debris, stay with simple shapes though, don't get too complex or else it will look sloppy. And don't have too much debris.

Does anyone have some tips on how to fill large areas of rock-face?

There are two ways to do it. Either keep it simple with plenty of white space and sparse rocky texture, or the other way is to do a lot of heavy detail near the edges and have it taper off as you get farther from the edge. Trying to add heavy detail through the entire rock face gets too time consuming and ends up looking pretty sloppy.

    Example of method 2:

    More leaves, thicker top branches

E; Bark detail would be nice, and maybe make the tree seem a bit more natural. It seems a bit sloppy at the base. Good start though!
