It isn't just music, newspaper comics have also gone downhill from the 80's also.

I really don't like the stuff they play on the radio now because half of it is all this electric crap or them trying to copy dubstep or other music genres like it. It gets so annoying when they play those songs almost every single day. Maybe other people might like that kind of music, but I don't like it when they pick 5 or 10 of the best trending songs and play them over and over again.

The old stuff you listen to was once pop music, and the "underground" stuff you listen to now won't be remembered in the future

Popular music is trash. I only listen to super underground bands like Twenty-One Pilots.

 

This is kinda irrelevant but does anyone else notice that when things become too popular, especially music, they are quickly labelled as crap? Seems that when music is lesser known it is almost unanimously liked but as soon as people get ahold of it that all changes.

 

I've noticed it. When a genre is lesser known, the artists in it tend to focus more on being creative with their music but when the genre becomes more well known, many bands will dumb it down into pop and capitalize on the newest craze.

 

Music, Just like TV, is getting worse as the years go by.
