Couple "Official" Author Potentials - feedback

If it were up to me I would say no. However I would also say 90% of offical/classic authors should not have the rank. If official is the lowest of ratings though, then sure why not.

 

Joking313 is probably the best of the three, but I don't personally think any of them are yet good enough for the title. It doesn't look like any of them have any stolen tracks though.

 

i dunno... maybe Mr_Snoolgy and Joking... they both had tracks on the #1 or #2 in trending, which is more than Ive ever got...

 

Honestly what are the standards track creators must reach to become an official author? Are these kinds of tracks all it takes to become an official author? I was hoping someone who was very experienced and has been part of fr for a long time to just be harsh and simply say that these tracks are half ass. When I started out the first epic tracks I've seen were by gongo999, DrManBearPig, and kazniti. They sorta gave me an idea of the quality standards of good tracks and in the beginning their tracks were what motivated me to get better. As well it made me realize how complete **** the rest of my tracks really were. Point is now it seems so easy to get official author status and so few people even bother with detail. Its just typical smooth tracks with a couple of jumps and "z" presses.

 

Yeah most people would still say even my tracks are horrible. If we keep standards so low, and if everyone is too positive, we're not gonna see much improvement. lol

 

I was surprised when I looked at LucJohnson 's profile and find that he wasn't official (classic). He is REALLY good. If anyone I would think it should be him. Eric That's just my opinion.

GUYS! how bout we have two ranks! official (which would be most of us classics) and "Classic"

to be classic you had to be active in the OLD days of FR, and to be official you have to just make good tracks on a regular basis

The only extra "perk" of being Classic (im assuming official is the same as the current "classic") is that it says so, and it says so in a way people will notice.

I would say my "Official" rank though (which of course is where I would go)

and like I said, there could be TWO ranks, on for classics, and one for those who we want to see more of, but dont quite meet the standard of classic yet

I doubt that 80% of active users have the name "classic"... just go to "newest tracks" and youll see what I mean

 

^ ok then I don't even care, our ideas/expectations on what is good are just wayy different. Especially if rank is based on likes/plays/# of tracks created. Many good track creators who make challenging tracks prob won't be rewarded well enough. Also if # of tracks is a factor wouldn't this more encourage easy, simple designed tracks to be the norm? As well people will simply dislike a track they have troubles completing. You guys should offer rank/status through contests, and not through the campaign contests. Something more like the GG recruitment contest, something that is more demanding and causes competition. Competition is good because it will make track makers try to out do others for rank/status. If you guys demanded/push for better tracks you'd probably get better tracks.

Eric Would it be possible to get both Classic and Official?

 

I think when they say # of tracks they are referring to taking it into consideration the amount of tracks. So like if you have 2000 likes but 80 tracks, you wouldn't be ranked as high as someone who had 2000 likes with only 12 tracks. But I am not positive about that.

Okay I totally respect you and your level of track making, but why would you say anyone sucks? These guys seem to be putting out good effort into their track making. Just because they aren't in the top 10 best current track creators dosen't mean they suck. Just seems a little harsh. I know this is a hidden thread but I just feel like we need to be more positive and let people enjoy making their tracks. They don't have to be good as long as they aren't spamming or stealing. Just wanted to voice my opinion. Again I very much respect you, I just think that it could take away from the community if we are looking down on other authors.

 

I got mentioned a bit here, and I'd like to say: The official rank and classic rank shouldn't be tossed around. I know people have clarified that and what I'm about to say involves the idea section of the forum. But what if we have ranks?? Like start out as a rookie and move your way up. You could have regular author rank, epic rider rank and so forth. This is just an example so PLEASE don't hate it. Feedback about this is appreciated Eric
