We hear you guys loud and clear. This will be discussed and added on our things to do. No guarantees but it should be addressed.
Novice > Distinguished > Respected > Master > Renowned > Grand-Master > Legendary > Ultimate lol i totally stole that from a game but yeaaa u should do that type of rating system based on numbers. it might get people motivated to make good tracks idk
probably. just an example. and it wouldn't be manual, just based on votes or something. I think the first rank in that game was called able. Experience and skill were separate. so ranks would show up like Experience/Skill. Example: Novice/able -> Transcendent/Ultimate were the worst and best possible. However you could still technically be novice/ultimate.... well more like broad/ultimate at the least. Whatever I'm not saying you should copy these ranks, I'm just saying how it worked. exp Novice Neophyte Apprentice Narrow Broad Solid Weighty Expert Paragon Illustrious Sublime Revered Exalted Transcendent skill Able Proficient Distinguished Respected Master Renowned Grand-Master Legendary Ultimate Yes this is way too many ranks, but maybe there could be one for like/dislike ratio and one for amount of votes/plays. Maybe amount of tracks posted that exceed a certain view count or vote count. I'm just throwing out ideas.
We would definitely like to do some kind of automated ranking for Authors, it will be tricky but should likely be based on a mix of plays + likes + # of tracks created. The current classic / soon to be "official" tag is intended to be a little different and is not intended to show or imply that 2 authors with an "official" tag are equal. Think of Twitter, you get to have an official profile if you are a celebrity or are gaining a number of followers, we want to apply the same kind of thing to Free Rider, elevating those authors with potential to official status so that they will no longer have to play tracks to draw tracks etc...
every thing is batman! okay JK that was off topic: I think automated ranking would be really awesome! with every rank the amount of coins per track decreases a little: how I would like ranks to be: Spoiler: Rank 1 Name: Beginner (duh): cost to upload track: 250 ( what ever current is) requirement to get to rank: DUH! Joining! Spoiler: Rank 2 Name: Novice (reason: because in order to get this rank, you have to show some effort) cost to upload track: 235 requirement to get to rank: 2 tracks (that are rated at least 40%(2 stars), and have at least 150 plays each) and 74 points Spoiler: Rank 3 Name: Practiced player (reason: because he will have had to practice) cost to upload track: 200 requirement to get to rank: 3 more tracks (that are rated at least 60%(3 starts), and have at least 250 plays each) and 200 points Spoiler: Rank 4 Name: solid player (reason: because if he sticked around for this long, hes not leaving) cost to upload track: 160 requirement to get to rank: 5 more tracks (that are rated at least 70%(3.5 starts), and have at least 500 plays each) and 600 points Spoiler: Rank 5 Name: Experienced player (reason: because by now he should be pretty good at this game) cost to upload track: 100 requirement to get to rank: 5 more tracks (that are rated at lest 80% (4 stars), and have at least 700 plays each) and 900 points then to get to "official" you have to be rank 5 and hand picked, and make awesome tracks also, If you use this, I think the requirements should be shown (not like I did, in a more professional way) edit: I know people might not like this, and that it's not perfect, but please dont go saying "dude you idiot! dat is stooopid!!"
to get people to put effort into their tracks. Another thing I like about FRHD over CR, there should be less spammy "Lol U cant beeet!! LOLOLOL" tracks
