What do you think? I know the shading in the middle is a bit messed up.......

 

Try to go with more organic and messy shapes. I like the layout of the roots but your lines and angles are really rigid and I think it could benefit from some diversity. It's just very straight and plain but I love the way you set up the branches and whatnot.

Playing with styles for the background of EA II, going to refine it more and make it more virus-like before I finalize anything. I think the crosshatching behind the drippy bit could help define it a lot.
