Well, I had quite an experience driving home today.
Firstly, a stone flew into my window and gave me a pretty bad scare. Hats off to nature for that.
    Secondly...
We had a hailstorm. It was so heavy that the hail looked like snow, and the surface was so slippery that we had to travel at 20-25mph. We even saw 5 crashed cars in the stretch of 2-3 miles, and about 4 ambulance vans/cars.
And the best part? Upwards lightning, too! Obviously I couldn't get a picture, but believe me on this one. :p

What Weather phenomenons have you all had?

I could show more pics if I wanted to. There's some pretty neat cloud formations that I got pics of. :)

In the last day it's had severe high winds and rain that could almost flood and then it hailed just like it did in your photo right here.

There was a tornado in my neighborhood when i was very little. I can't remember it, but it tore my neighbors roof off, and my dad had to go help them. It was really strange though because tornadoes are a very rare occurrence where i live.

I have also been in many hailstorms while driving. One time my dad and i had to sit under a tree in our car for 20 minutes before we could even think about going anywhere.

A quote from my mother during a hailstorm one time: "What the hail is this all about!" - Mom

yeah, drought sucks :( I'm worried this isn't an isolated coincidence, either. We're projected to lose a huge amount of our snowpack over the next few decades due to climate change, and that's where we get lots of our drinking water.

I wish climate change wasn't such a liberal vs. conservative issue tbh. Essentially all scientists who are knowledgeable on the subject agree that the earth's climate is changing significantly because of us, and even the staunchest conservatives needs to realize that if we keep doing business as usual the effects will be great enough to destroy any profits they gain from not caring about the environment.

Yeah, well as a conservative, i could say that i wish everyone would see that the earth goes in cycles and it isnt worth ruining our current economy to save it.....

All scientific evidence would be against you, though  There is really no doubt that we, as humans, are having a huge effect on it. I'd recommend looking at the actual scientific evidence before saying it's only due to cycles: http://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/

Hey, well half the nation is conservative.......you cant jsut say, i wish they would all revoke their beliefs

Well, it is a fairly well known fact that all those government programs are owned by liberals.......IRS, NASA, you name it

I'm just asking them to learn more about the subject instead of assuming they are right about a very convoluted matter. As much as you might like to think you're an expert on climate, you aren't. There are people who are, and they all agree that you're wrong.

That doesn't really mean anything, and no, "liberals" aren't the spawn of Satan. The people in these scientific organizations are people who have dedicated their whole life to researching and understanding our planet and how it works. And even if you don't believe NASA because you think they're all liberals, look at any other scientific organization and their findings on the issue. Your excuse is quite frankly a copout.

Listen Dude........i was told as a young age that scientists were bad people, because they didnt believe in god.......Am i interested in earth and nature? Of course! Would i ever become a scientist? No, because my collegues would disagree with the way i viewed my life. I live in the pacific northwest, on of the most beautiful places in the country. I love it here, all the trees, the rivers, the valleys......do i think they should remove all the dams from the river that kill fish and change the scenery? no.....do i think factories should shut down that cause pollution and billions of dollars of revenue per year? of course not!

sure, humans might be changing the environment, but its for the better...

Well, blame the people who taught you that. Scientists are fantastic because they're working day and night to solve problems in the world. You really shouldn't let your belief in god deter you from seeing good in non-religious people... That's really close-minded. If it wasn't for bright and innovative scientists, we'd be living decades less, for example. You really need to open your mind.

And how are humans exactly making the environment better? Is it how our pollution has acidified the ocean and killed a large portion of the world's coral reefs? Or is it how we're making the planet warmer at an extreme pace, leading to the melting of the north and south poles? Here's a fact, the icecaps are melting at an unprecedented rate, leading to, among other factors, rising sea levels. If we keep pumping more pollution into the air we're just going to make this rise even more extreme. I don't know about you, but having the coastal cities of our country becoming uninhabitable and destroying ecosystems doesn't sound like an improvement to me. In fact, it sounds like we'd be both destroying the planet and ourselves.
