    Is it alright if I alter the shapes to make them proportionally correct? (I'm only going to do the star) Their incorrectness is really bothering me :/

    Keep in mind, that just because you aren't well known or popular, it should not stop you from doing your best at all. People will notice your entry, no matter how obscured you seem to be to yourself. Wolfram came out of nowhere with his entry to the CR circle contest, and his entry ended up being one of the most legendary tracks of all time. You can do this too.
