The researchers extracted data for this study from a larger research project on pilot aging and flight safety. The data were gathered from general aviation crashes of airplanes and helicopters between 1983 and 1997, involving 144 female pilots and 287 male pilots aged 40-63. Female pilots were matched with male pilots in a 1:2 ratio, by age, classes of medical and pilot certificates, state or area of crash, and year of crash. Then the circumstances of the crashes and the pilot error involved were categorized and coded without knowledge of pilot gender.

Women are also, on average better drivers:
Instead, they found female-to-female accidents made up 20.5% of all crashes, much higher than expected. Male-to-male crashes were lower than expected, at 31.9%, and male-to-female crashes were 47.6%.

And women are disadvantaged anyway, due to society being unnecessarily sexist (because of people like you).
The female pilots had an average of 298 hours; male pilots had an average of 528 hours in the air.

 

that statement in itself is sexist tho lmao, the reason for that is likely that there is a lot more women going into the air force recently as we're more accepting of them taking the role, not to mention that that statement is wrong...
