Paid promotions

I'm honestly not entirely sure how I feel about this, but I decided to share it anyways. What if people could pay to promote their tracks in a new "promoted tracks" section... or maybe show up as the first couple recommended tracks on the side bar more frequently for a certain period of time. I don't know if this could help reduce ads (maybe it could), but if anything it should help bring more revenue which should in turn allow the game to advance more quickly... right? It couldn't hurt... or maybe it could. Thoughts?

 

Yeah, surely micro transactions can't be part of a pay2win element!

besides, there are already microtransactions with coins.

well that's kind of the point, but yes I see how it could be very bad. I was thinking people wouldn't want to pay to promote terrible tracks, but kids with their moms credit card will buy anything. There would have to be a limit of one track per month per user or something (or maybe even 3 months), and it would only last a week or two. It all depends on how popular the service becomes. There would also have to be a limit of how many tracks are promoted at once overall.

 

tbh i think it is good rn, well... trending needs to be fixed somehow but idk really know how, i think if the featured tracks were put at the top of the page then trending then hot would, it work better

 

I wouldn't even say a week. If it were to go through, it'd have to be a few days, maybe even a few hours, because the tracks would almost instantly be on Trending.

They could just make them immune to trending unless they get a certain like ratio. or just completely immune. but who cares, trending section sucks anyways.

Tracks are forwarded to trending if they stay on the Hot list for a set amount of time. I'm not sure what the time is, but it's definitely more than a few days.

yeah to get to the top of trending u have to get a lot of likes in a short amount of time tho
