Religion?

Sorry to be on topic, but I'm LDS. If you want any information in what I believe in just ask

 

My belief in god faded away at the same time as in santa or the tooth fairy.
I'd rather not believe in a fairy-tale.

 

I would like to believe in something but the whole 'don't question it, just have faith' thing only makes me want to question it more.

 

thankfully my parents never told me santa or tooth fairy was true it makes it easier to trust what they say

 

I actually completely trust them. They never told me anything about god.
All of the religious bs I was told as a kid was in fact from SHOOL and my kindergarten teachers (which should NEVER teach that ****, they don't teach us about snow white and the 7 dwarves either. Forcing a belief on children and brainwashing them should be illegal).
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind people believing in god or such, just don't force it on others (which you didn't, I'm not targeting/attacking you).

 

yeah i agree with u forcing a religion on someone is so wrong or even forcing someone to not have a religion is also wrong
and the reason my perants never told me santa and that stuff was true was because they wanted us to trust them and even if they had i would probably still trust them

 

Yes, religion should be a thing you look into if you care enough and then draw conclusions.
And I can kinda understand the santa thing from their perspective, too. It never was a huge deal to me, tho.

Pretty much my opinions on the entire topic is this
You believe what you want
Ill believe in what I want

Neither sides should have a go at one another, there isnt much point honestly lol

 

I'm fine with whatever religion you have as long as it doesnt interfere with my life.

In the U.S. It's illegal to teach religion in school unless it's a private school, and a lot of private schools here are religion based anyway.

 

tbh i think it should be illegal to teach it in a public school, i'm not atheist tho

 

I think the best method is unbiased and equalled out religious teaching. So then no one is inclined to choose what they go for and everyone learns what they're about. Although I do think this should probably be Middle school or High school age onwards.

I go to a private school of only people of my religion, but the teachers are outsiders so we avoid the topic during school hours because of attacks on our faith that have surfaced in the UK. Only thing u see, is the absence of evolution and sex-ED.

However, i go to church at least once a day, preach about once a month, and read the bible at home, so i dont feel deprived of God

 

so....Mormon basically? My 3rd grade teacher was a mormon.....we could tell my the large amounts of decaf stashed under the desk.

 

What I don't understand is the absence of evolution and sex-ED, particularly in high school, you are old enough to make your own decisions and need to know how to live in today's society not hide yourself from it.
